Nathan Rix

Nathan Rix is a former state government executive, Big Four consulting leader, and Teach For America alumnus with nearly two decades of experience driving transformational change across human services, public health, and regulatory systems. His work integrates strategy, organizational culture, and neuroscience to strengthen leadership, build workforce capacity, and improve outcomes for children, families, and communities. Appointed by the Oregon Governor to the nation’s first Psilocybin Advisory Board, Nathan helped design a pioneering framework for safe, ethical psychedelic therapy. As Director of Executive Projects at the Oregon Department of Human Services, he led statewide efforts to centralize child abuse reporting, implement data-driven safety reforms, and establish cross-agency governance models that enhanced accountability and public trust.

Nathan’s leadership philosophy is grounded in service, humility, and shared purpose. He believes meaningful transformation begins not with authority, but through authentic relationships. As a practitioner of dialogic facilitation, he creates spaces where strategy becomes conversation, accountability is mutual, and courage is cultivated collectively. His current research and practice explore how neuroscience and counseling psychology can strengthen institutional resilience and leadership in high-accountability environments.

He holds a B.A. in Religion and Organizational Communication from Pepperdine University, an M.P.P. in Public Policy from the Gerald R. Ford School at the University of Michigan, and an M.S. in Educational Leadership from The City College of New York. A certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Nathan is currently pursuing an M.S.Ed. in Mental Health Counseling at Fordham University to integrate clinical insight with systems change and leadership coaching. Outside of his consulting practice, he is a private pilot, writer, and lifelong student of how communities foster belonging and courage in times of change.
