Alexis Danciu

Alexis Danciu brings more than 17 years of experience in child welfare, with extensive practice and leadership work across multiple states, including North Carolina, Florida, Georgia, and Arkansas. For her first 12 years in the field, Alexis specialized in CPS intake and investigationsincluding a forensic focus in both direct practice and supervisory roles. Over the past six years, she has served as a key member of her organization’s Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI)team for social work services, where she has developed comprehensive expertise across the full child welfare continuum—from intake through permanency and adoption.

In her CQI role, Alexis has led and participated in local, state, and federal case reviews, fiscal audits, and system assessments, including four years conducting federal Child and Family Services Reviews (CFSRs). She is deeply committed to strengthening practice quality, policy alignment, and supervision, and she leverages her broad systems perspective to support agency-wide learning, accountability, and innovation.

Alexis is also highly passionate about workforce well-being and resilience. Alongside her CQI work, she has played a critical role in expanding Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) services within her organization and across multiple county agencies in North Carolina. Through this work, she supports safety, stability, and resiliency for professionals working in both child welfare and adult services.

Alexis holds a Master’s degree in International Relations and resides in Asheville, North CarolinaOutside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and can often be found reading in a hammock, singing, crocheting, or tending to her houseplants.
