Julie Barker, MSW, LCSW, brings more than 25 years of combined military and social work experience to the field of moral injury. An Iraq combat veteran who served as a medical service officer, leader, and trainer, she integrates lived experience with 14 years of clinical practice in the VA system and private settings.
Julie holds a Master’s degree and a Certificate in Interpersonal Trauma from the University of Denver, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations. A writer, public speaker, and consultant, she is dedicated to advancing the understanding and treatment of moral injury through clinical training, scholarship, and efforts to make healing more accessible to both clinicians and the broader public.
