Trey Sarter is a Mental Health Professional and consultant specializing in expanding access to care, strengthening community partnerships, and helping organizations build effective, people-centered mental health strategies. His work is grounded in practical, scalable solutions that enhance awareness, support early intervention, and improve overall well-being across both communities and workplaces.
Trey joined the Allies for Outcomes (A4O) team to advance organizational resilience and workforce wellness, contributing to the A4O Integrated Systems & Support for Workforce (ISSW) Team. In this role, he partners with organizations to strengthen internal capacity, promote psychologically healthy work environments, and implement strategies that support both employee well-being and long-term system performance.
With a background in Psychology and Counselor Education from the University of South Carolina, Trey holds multiple industry-recognized credentials, including Certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor, Certified Trauma-Informed Workplace Practitioner, Certified Peer Support Specialist, and Critical Incident Stress Debrief Facilitator. He is currently completing certification as a Gallup Strengths Coach and is pursuing a Master of Healthcare Administration at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, further strengthening his expertise in leadership development, team engagement, and systems-level organizational growth.
His professional experience spans behavioral health, social services, and community-based systems, supporting children, adults, and families navigating mental health, developmental, and substance use challenges. Trey has led collaborative initiatives that bring together community organizations, providers, and cross-sector leaders to address gaps in care and improve access to critical resources.
He brings particular strength in program development, training facilitation, and cross-sector collaboration—helping organizations translate vision into actionable, sustainable strategies. His work emphasizes resilience-building, workforce well-being, and culturally responsive, trauma-informed approaches that foster trust and long-term impact.
